The ION XL, Shark's most sophisticated self-emptying robot vacuum, is a great choice for those who want to clean their homes without lifting a finger. It also offers exemplary performance. The vacuum comes with a large bin that can hold a month's worth of dirt. It can be set to empty the bin at the conclusion of each cleaning session to ensure long-term storage. The ION XL is one of the top robot vacuums available on the market, suitable for carpets and hard floors. It can also sweep and mop your floors. You can control the robot via an app or voice commands, and you can create the map of your home to clean every room on demand. The robot also does an excellent job of maneuvering around furniture and can even move through stairs and fully-carpeted rooms easily.

I tried the ION XL in a family and kitchen room with hardwood flooring, area rugs, and a standard debris test. It was excellent at vacuuming, clearing pet hair and debris off the floors, and even picked up some of the more difficult dust particles on carpets. It was also good at moving and didn't hit my barstools like the iRobot j7+ in this test. The only downside is that the ION XL can't detect toys, cords or shoes that are in its path, so you will have prepare your home for cleaning prior to using this vacuum if you want it to avoid these items.

The ION XL robot cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot j7+, but it's a great option if you do not want to spend more than $500 on a robot. It's superior to the eufy RoboVac 11S in most ways and is more easy to maintain and incurring lower recurring costs. It also performs better in vacuuming floors that aren't clean and removing pet hair, but it can't perform as well on high- or high-pile carpet.

It's not as robust however it's an excellent choice. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a huge capacity bin. It is controlled via an app or a voice command and is easy to maintain. It's also a great price.
