In addition to letting you control the robot via smartphone or remote as well, the iRobot Genius app makes it easy to configure the j7+, set an agenda, and fine-tune other settings. The mop it comes with is as powerful as its vacuums, and it has an appealing design than the Roomba. The T10's intelligent features make up for the lack of the remote. With the application, you can easily start and stop a cleaning cycle. You can also schedule it and alter device settings.

4. Shark ION SX

The ION XL, Shark's most advanced self-emptying robotic vacuum, is a fantastic option for those looking to get their home clean without having to lift a finger. It also offers exemplary performance. The robot can also do great job maneuvering around furniture and can even move through stairs and fully-carpeted rooms effortlessly.

I tested the IONXL using our standard test for debris in a family room as well as a kitchen with hardwood flooring and area rugs. It was excellent at vacuuming, clearing debris and pet hair from the floors, and even took care of some of the most stubborn crumbs on carpets. It was also very good in moving around my bar stool and didn't hit them like the iRobot J7+ did in this test. The only drawback is that the ION XL can't detect toys, cords or shoes that are in its path, so you will have to pre-clean your house before using this vacuum to stay clear of these items.

The ION XL may not be as efficient as the iRobot J7+, but it is an excellent alternative if you don't want to spend more than $500 for cleaning robots. It's better than the eufy RoboVac 11S, in many ways. It's more easy to maintain and has lower costs for recurring maintenance. It also performs better in vacuuming floors that aren't clean and removing pet hair, but it does not perform as well on low- or high-pile carpet.

It's not as sturdy but it's still an excellent option. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a huge capacity bin. It can be operated by an app or voice command, and is simple to maintain. It also comes at an affordable price.
